Macroeconomic Forecast Tajikistan

Economic growth in Tajikistan came in at 6.0% y-o-y in February, up from 4.2% in January. While partly the result of low base effects the previous year, this growth figure indicates the economic recovery is well underway. While we continue to forecast that growth this year will fall below pre-crisis levels, coming in at 5.0%, we highlight that a quicker than expected improvement in global trade conditions going forward could see average growth push higher than forecast this year.
