More Austerity?

Prime Minister Andrius Kubilius stated in late May that the government may need to push through additional austerity measures before end-year if the country was to meet its goal of narrowing the budget deficit to 3.0% of GDP by 2012. After coming in at 8.9% of GDP in 2009, Vilnius will likely need to implement significant budget cuts over the coming quarters if it is to meet this target.
