Russian Reconciliation Back On Agenda
April 2010 | Political Risk AnalysisWe expect Uzbek President Islam Karimov to seek a closer relationship with Moscow over the coming months, particularly on the back of the recent political turmoil in Kyrgyzstan. While Tashkent will continue to operate a balanced foreign policy strategy, we foresee renewed cooperation between the two nations on a number of key issues, in particular regarding joint security concerns within the Central Asian region.
