Public support for Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico's governing party has fallen in the lead up to parliamentary elections on June 12. According to a recently released poll by the MVK agency, the Direction - Social Democracy (Smer) party's popularity fell to 35.1 in April, down from 37.1 in March and 42.0 in January. However, support for Smer remains well above that for the main opposition party, SDKU, which saw its popularity fall from 12.8% in March to 11.7% in April. We continue to believe that Smer will form the next government in June, but may seek a new coalition
