End Of Legal Battle Only The Beginning
February 2010 | Political Risk AnalysisUkrainian Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko dropped her legal case challenging the results of the second round run-off presidential election on February 7, which leader of the opposition Party of Regions, Viktor Yanukovych, won by a slight 3 percentage point margin. Although Tymoshenko continues to insist that Yanukovych was not legitimately elected, claiming that his victory was a product of massive voter fraud, the Prime Minister decided to stop pursuing her case, saying that the country's courts could not be trusted to reach a fair verdict.
