Gyorgy Matolcsy, economic strategist of Hungary's main opposition Fidesz party (SZDSZ), has stated that his party will seek to finalise a fresh economic deal with the IMF and the EU should it win next year's parliamentary elections. He also added that the country's budget deficit is estimated to reach nearly 7.3-7.5% of GDP in 2010, compared with the existing government's target of 3.8% of GDP.
