Turkish-Armenian Relations: Prospects To Improve

The timeline set by Turkey and Armenia on August 31 to establish bilateral relations and reopen their common border marks a significant step forward in the relationship between the two countries. We see this as a positive development which will result in major new trade opportunities (especially for Armenia) and greater regional stability. Nevertheless, we caution that several key risks to the diplomatic process remain.
