Falling Short

The Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), in its final report on the June 28 parliamentary elections held in Albania, has noted that the elections fell short of meeting the high standards of democratic process. The report highlighted that although there was progress on certain aspects (including voter registration and identification process, legal framework, and counting) the politicisation of technical parts of the election and campaign violations overshadowed the developments.
