Visa-Free Travel

The European Commission (EC) formally recommended visa-free travel to the EU's borderless Schengen area for Montenegrin citizens (along with those from Serbia and Macedonia) on July 15. The EC's proposal still needs to be approved by the EU's Council of Ministers, with the visa-free regime likely to come into effect on January 1, 2010.
