Hungary's main opposition Hungarian Citizens Party (Fidesz) look set to win a landslide majority in next year's parliamentary elections, according to the latest public opinion data from Szonda Ipsos. When asked in June who they intended on voting for in the next election, 65% of respondents indicated they would vote for Fidesz, up from 60% in the previous survey. In contrast, the governing Hungarian Socialist Party (MSZP) has seen their popular support plummet in recent months, with the latest survey showing only 21% of the electorate intending on voting for the party next year, down from 28% previously.
