L. Purevdorj, the former head of Mongolia's state assets privatization body, was named the new governor of the Bank of Mongolia (BoM) on January 12. Purevdorj's appointment followed the unexpected resignation of the previous BoM governor, Alag Batsukh, who left his post only three years into his six-year mandate, citing a lack of parliamentary support.
