Vote To Precede Assessment

After several months of squabbling, Macedonia’s political parties have agreed to a government proposal to bring parliamentary elections forward from their usual slot in September and instead hold them on July 5. The move allows the vote to take place prior to the EU’s next assessment of Macedonia’s readiness to start membership negotiations.
