July 2008 | Risk SummaryOn the back of the June 29 general elections, we have revised up several of our key short-term political risk subcomponents, to reflect the increased likelihood of policy stability owing to the majority victory for the ruling Mongolian People's Revolutionary Party. Specifically, the 'policy continuity' and 'policy-making process' component scores have both been raised to 70.0 and 83.3, respectively. That said, on the back of post-election rioting, which left five people dead and scores injured, we have lowered social stability score to 57.5, which has brought the headline short-term political risk score down to
