Improving Foreign Relations

The Canadian government has announced that it will expand its diplomatic relations with Mongolia by opening a trade office in Ulan Bataar by the end of 2008. This could be a first step for Canada, which currently maintains its diplomatic links with Mongolia through its embassy in Beijing, to establishing a permanent resident embassy in the country. Considering that Canada is one of the principal foreign investment sources for Mongolia, this would be very beneficial to improving trade and investment linkages between the two countries.
