Belarus's international reserves continued to increase, reaching US$4.75bn as of April 1, an increase of 13.5% since the start of 2008. Foreign currency reserves amounted to US$4.12bn, while monetary gold reserves totalled US$544.9mn. Going forward, we expect Belarus to continue to steadily accumulate international reserves, with our end-2008 figure at US$7.1bn, this will provide two months of import cover.
