C/A Deficit To Peak In 2009?

Despite Ukraine's current account deficit for 2007 widening further than expected, we maintain our view that the deficit as a percentage of GDP will narrow beyond 2009. Moreover, we believe that the shortfall does not pose a significant risk to macroeconomic stability, and will continue to be covered by the financial account surplus going forward.
