Inflation, Falling Property Prices And Declining Confidence To Dampen Growth

The economy is showing signs of slowing, but not enough to assuage fears that it could be headed for a hard landing. Furthermore, we believe that the downside risks to consumer spending and domestic investment are heightened by the global liquidity squeeze, which we expect to continue playing out through 2008.
