The Free Democratic Party has stated it will vote against a key health insurance law amendment proposed by the Socialist government, effectively killing the bill. The health insurance reform law is the first major test for the socialist government since the Free Democrats left the coalition, leaving the government with only minority support in parliament. The defeat of the bill reinforces our view that policy implementation will be extremely difficult going forward and that the reform agenda is likely to remain
