Minerals To Drive Economic Boom

Mongolia is in the midst of a massive resource-led economic boom which should lift GDP growth into the double digits and underpin robust increases in exports and inflows of foreign investment capital over the long term. As this capital filters through to the wider economy, sectors beyond mining will similarly experience high growth rates. We caution though, that this influx of new wealth will need to be managed carefully and populist government policy poses risks to the sustainability of this boom over the long term.
