The Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) is hoping to push forward on stalled negotiations between the Moldovan government and the separatist regime in the breakaway Transdniestria region in 2008. Relations between the two sides have remained tense since the government imposed customs checks on Transdniestrian exports two years ago in an effort to control what they stated was a serious smuggling problem. While a timetable has yet to be set, any international efforts to restart the dispute resolution process is an encouraging sign.
