PDK Victory Signals Independence?
November 2007 | Risk SummaryThe Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) secured victory in the parliamentary elections on November 17, with the party's leader Hashim Thaci, likely to become the next Prime Minister. The PDK took a comfortable lead with 34% of the vote, compared to the more moderate Democratic League of Kosovo which only secured 23%. Despite the PDK taking the lead, a coalition between the two pro-independence parties is still on the cards.
