President Sacks Key Officials

President Kurbanguly Berdymukhamedov has sacked a number of senior officials, including the National Security Minister and the Chief of Police. These are the President's latest dismissals of high level officials appointed under Saparmurat Niyazov, his long-serving authoritarian predecessor. The state media gave no reason for the dismissals.
