Bosnia's High Representative Miroslav Lajcak issued a sharp warning to Republika Srpska (RS) Prime Minister Milorad Dodik in late August, for his nationalist rhetoric. This follows the RS prime minister's remarks that the notion of a united Bosnia-Herzegovina is only 'temporary'. The new high representative made clear that he will not shy away from using his powers to remove officials impeding the country's progress towards resolving ethnic divisions and commencing the crucial Stabilisation and Association Agreement ahead of EU entry talks.
