Prospects for increased military cooperation with Russia seem increasingly likely, as Kyrgyzstan may soon begin supplying Russian armed forces with food products and woollen cloth across the former Soviet Union. While security ties with the US continue to provide the Central Asian republic with strategic and economic benefits, Kyrgyzstan may find it increasingly difficult to balance the presence of both rival regional powers on its territory.
