June 2007 | Macroeconomic ForecastsAccording to data released by the Statistics Office, real GDP growth increased by 7.4% y-o-y in Q107, mainly driven by strong investment growth and private consumption. In our view, over the coming two years, growth will mainly be driven by domestic demand. The 2012 UEFA European Football Championship, hosted by Poland and Ukraine, will boost investment, particularly in construction, towards the latter end of this decade, and our average growth forecast from 2007-2012 is now an impressive 5.1%.
