Economic Risk Ratings - A Practical Application
May 2007 | Economic AnalysisOur fully revised proprietary short- and long-term economic risk ratings allow to precisely pinpoint a country's vulnerabilities with regards to specific key macro-economic indicators (economic activity, inflationary pressures, fiscal management, external accounts, and financial indicators), as well as structural weaknesses in its economic system. Given that our rankings only include a very limited number of variables that are open to subjective judgement (such as the independence of the central bank), our system permits an objective benchmarking of countries across the region. Furthermore, the rankings also indicate the direction of a country's economic performance over the coming two years and beyond.
