As Azerbaijan's importance as an energy producer grows, its ability to position itself to negotiate a path through the strategic interests of powerful neighbours becomes paramount. Should the government continue to adeptly balance integration with western multilateral institutions and cooperation with its regional neighbours, then in the future we can expect a relatively stable international political environment conducive to further investment and growth.
