Two Very Different Neighbours
November 2006 | Political Risk AnalysisBMI View: German Chancellor Angela Merkel's reception of the Polish premier in Berlin on October 30 renewed strained Polish-German relations, but showed little common ground between the respective administrations. Although far from a disaster, the trip merely illustrated a missed opportunity for the countries to work towards a resolution of the current pan-European constitutional deadlock, as well as relations with the EU's eastern neighbours.
