Plan Of Action

The EU and Armenia have agreed on a five-year action plan to forge closer ties between the two under the umbrella of the Union's 'neighbourhood policy'. Although the document will not be made public until mid November, the plan's implementation will be contingent on tangible improvements in the democratisation of the political system. This will make the conduct of respective parliamentary and presidential elections in 2007 and 2008 important points of reference, with free and fair ballots required for the speediest European integration.
