September 2006 | Risk SummaryThe Serbian authorities are becoming increasingly desperate to restart EU negotiations, with Foreign Minister Vuk Draskovic even sending a letter to the Union and NATO explaining the merits of closer integration for pro-democracy forces in Belgrade. Brussels has recently given praise to Serbia following the government's new action plan to capture missing war crimes suspect Ratko Mladic, but will require more results before restarting negotiations with the Balkan hopeful.
