BMI View: Inflation remains a real concern for the authorities, with prices rising by a hefty 14.5% y-o-y in June. The government has raised its end-year inflation target to 8% from the original 5-6% range. But it must do more to take the decisive policy steps needed to keep price growth at sustainable levels, such as keeping public spending under control.
