August 2006 | Macroeconomic ForecastsBMI View: Real GDP growth eased to 7.7% y-o-y in Q206 from 8.8% in Q1, according to a flash estimate from Statistics Lithuania. National accounts details are not yet available, but manufacturing industry expanded at roughly the same rate in Q2 as in Q1 (14% y-o-y), while growth in the volume of retail sales appears to have eased somewhat (from 9.3% in Q1 to 6.1% in April-May). BMI intends to review its full-year GDP growth forecast of 7.1% once disaggregated data is made available.
