Macroeconomic Forecast Croatia

November 2005 | Macroeconomic Forecasts

BMI View: Croatia's trade deficit expanded to over US$7bn in the first nine months of 2005, a year-on-year increase of 14.6% on the same period last year. The data have prompted us to revise our end-year forecast up to US$9.4bn (from US$8.9bn) and US$10.4bn (from US$9.7) in 2005 and 2006 respectively. However, the impact on the current account deficit should be mitigated by a strong summer tourist season, and we expect FDI inflows to cover much of the shortfall.
