With the landmark reprivatisation of the Kryvorizhstal steel mill in October, President Viktor Yushchenko has at last fulfilled one of his key pledges on coming to power in early 2005. Seeking to inject life into other areas of policy, the president has subsequently pledged progress on Ukraine's World Trade Organisation (WTO) and EU bids, and on reviving economic growth.
