Gunmen have killed an MP in Bishkek who was a leading supporter of the popular uprising in March that led to the overthrow of the previous Soviet-style regime. Bayaman Erkinbayev was a wealthy businessman in the south of Kyrgyzstan where the protests began and had also announced plans to run for president following the coup.
