Unstable Alliances

The League of Polish Families (LPR)'s failure to toe the line in the recently signed Stabilisation Pact, together with stalling of legislature in the Sejm, has led the Law and Justice (PiS) administration to call for the dissolution of parliament, and fresh elections in May. The motion would require a two-thirds majority to pass, and is opposed by opposition Civic Platform (PO), as well as pact partners Samoobroona (SO) and LPR, and is thus all but certain to fail.
