Political uncertainty over the formation of the new government in Poland continues to overshadow other events. Following the resignation of former prime minister Leszek Miller, SLD member Marek Belka is set to endure a tight parliamentary vote as he seeks to obtain approval for a new government. BMI View: We believe the threat to parliamentary representation posed by an early election will create an incentive for either the SDPL or the PSL to confer the support Belka needs to become the permanent head of a new government. However, we expect that Belka may need to compromise his fiscal reform agenda
