October 2012 |Mongolian customs agencies have signed a cooperation agreement with its counterparty in Hong Kong in October. The aim of the deal is to boost cooperation in customs law enforcement as trade between both states grows. Under the customs agreement, both sides will share information on illegal customs activity and trans-national crime. Stricter enforcement of customs rules between both sides highlights the ever growing importance of China and Hong Kong as key trade partners for Mongolia, and more efficient cooperation between both sides could both secure better tax proceeds, as well as strengthen bilateral ties.
