October 2012 |Albanian Foreign Minister Edmond Panariti met Turkish counterpart Ahmet Davutoglu in Istanbul on October 19 to discuss bilateral corporation. Describing the relationship between Albania and Turkey as “crucial”, Panariti stressed “the deep, historic and good relations" between the two nations. Panariti pledged to further strengthen Turkey and Albania's economic and political ties, and outlined his plan to make Albania the country with the most investments in Turkey. Stronger ties with Turkey are a positive for Albania given the increasingly important role being played by Turkey in the region.
