We hold to our forecast for Turkmen consumer price inflation to come in at 7.0% y-o-y by end-2012 and have raised our forecast for end-2013 inflation to 6.8% from 6.3% previously. Stronger economic growth than previously expected will likely add upside pressure to prices in the country. However, in spite of high global food prices, inflation in Turkmenistan is largely determined by official price controls, which will cap more substantial rises in the price level.
