According to the Statistical Office of the Republic of Slovenia, the country's unemployment rate dipped to 11.8% in April down from 12.0% in May. The slight improvement in unemployment data notwithstanding, we hold to our forecast for the joblessness rate to end the year at 12.0%. This view is predicated on the dire economic outlook facing the country, from sizeable macroeconomic headwinds emanating from the eurozone debt crisis as well as considerable fiscal austerity at home.
