In the fifth Astana Economic Forum, which ended May 24, attendees discussed monetary and fiscal policies, as well as issues relating to energy efficiency. The main result of the forum will be forwarded to the G8 and G20 organising committees along with the UN, the IMF and World Bank. On the final day, experts committed themselves to building new relationships among their countries. Former UK Prime Minister Tony Blair spoke, calling for a coordinated policy to solve global economic problems and ensure 2012 is a year of recovery.
