January 2012 | Risk SummarySweden-based telecoms group Tele2 's Estonian subsidiary Tele2 Estonia will buy Estonian telecoms provider Televorgu from state-owned Eesti Energia in a deal worth SEK225mn (US$32mn). The deal will enable Tele2 Estonia to strengthen its presence among business clients in Estonia and have complete control over its transmission network until 2025. The acquisition, which is to be made on a cash and debt-free basis, is subject to approval from the relevant competition authorities. BMI estimates that there were 1.78mn mobile subscribers in 2011 and expects the total to rise 4.48% by 2015 to 1.86mn. During this period penetration will rise from 132.9% to 139.2%.
