BMI View: Data released by the Serbian statistics office illustrate how the country's economy expanded by 2.4% year-on-year (y-o-y) in Q211, up from the previously published 2.2% y-o-y flash estimate. Driving this positive result were mainly the mining and the energy sectors, up 17.5% y-o-y and 13.0% y-o-y respectively. The trade sector on the other hand was down 4.6%, as export markets were likely already showing signs of softening growth and moderating demand.
