Deepening Cooperation Could Ire Neighbours

We view Tajikistan's moves to deepen economic and security cooperation with Iran and Russia as paying dividends for the country's energy and military security outlook. Nonetheless, we could see scope for these moves to increase regional tensions, especially with neighbouring Uzbekistan and in particular over the issue of water supplies.
