New President Not The Panacea To Instability

We expect the current Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Almazbek Atambayev of the Social Democratic Party to win the presidential election this year. More important for the country and the region is whether the next president will continue with the parliamentary democracy that was implemented after the last parliamentary election in October 2010, or return the country to a stronger presidential republic.
