Long-Term Growth Supported By FDI

Kazakhstan's economic potential over the medium term will remain constrained by poor conditions within the domestic banking sector. That said, while growth will remain below pre-crisis levels, higher commodity prices and export volumes will nonetheless facilitate healthy economic expansion of above 6.0% annually going forward. Furthermore, over the longer run, owing to the government's economic diversification strategy and the economy's rapidly improving business environment, growth should pick up more strongly on the back of higher foreign direct investment inflows.
